1. 규칙 비교급과 최상급

형용사나 부사의 음절 수에 따라 비교급과 최상급을 만드는 방법이 다릅니다.

예문 5가지:

• My brother is taller than me. (내 형은 나보다 키가 크다) — 단음절 비교급


• This is the biggest pizza I have ever seen. (이것은 내가 본 것 중 가장 큰 피자다) — 최상급


• Seoul is larger than Busan. (서울은 부산보다 크다) — -e로 끝나는 단어 비교급


• She is happier now than before. (그녀는 예전보다 지금이 더 행복하다) — -y 탈락 비교급


• This is the most beautiful painting in the museum. (이것은 박물관에서 가장 아름다운 그림이다) — 2음절 이상 최상급

연습 문제 (빈칸 채우기):

1. This box is ______ than that one. (heavy → 비교급) — -y로 끝나는 형용사의 비교급을 쓰세요.


2. He is the ______ student in our class. (smart → 최상급) — 단음절 형용사의 최상급을 쓰세요.

2. 불규칙 비교급과 최상급

일부 형용사와 부사는 규칙을 따르지 않고 완전히 다른 형태로 변합니다. 반드시 암기해야 합니다!

예문 5가지:

• Your idea is better than mine. (당신의 아이디어가 내 것보다 좋다) — good의 비교급


• This is the worst movie I have ever watched. (이것은 내가 본 영화 중 최악이다) — bad의 최상급


• I have more homework than my friend. (나는 친구보다 숙제가 더 많다) — many/much의 비교급


• She drinks less coffee than before. (그녀는 예전보다 커피를 덜 마신다) — little의 비교급


• His house is farther from school than mine. (그의 집은 내 집보다 학교에서 더 멀다) — far의 비교급

연습 문제 (빈칸 채우기):

1. She is ______ at cooking than her sister. (good → 비교급) — 불규칙 비교급을 쓰세요.

3. 원급 비교 (as ~ as)

두 대상이 같은 정도임을 나타낼 때 as + 형용사/부사 + as 구조를 사용합니다. 부정문에서는 "not as(so) ~ as"로 차이를 표현합니다.

예문 5가지:

• My dog is as big as a cat. (내 개는 고양이만큼 크다) — 긍정 원급 비교


• This coat is not as warm as that one. (이 코트는 저것만큼 따뜻하지 않다) — 부정 원급 비교


• Please speak as slowly as possible. (가능한 한 천천히 말해 주세요) — 부사 원급 비교


• This phone is three times as expensive as mine. (이 휴대폰은 내 것보다 세 배나 비싸다) — 배수 원급 비교


• She is just as talented as her brother. (그녀는 오빠만큼 재능이 있다) — just as ~ as (똑같이)

4. 비교급 강조와 최상급 표현

비교급 앞에 강조 부사를 추가하면 차이의 정도를 표현할 수 있습니다. 최상급은 반드시 정관사 the와 함께 사용합니다.

예문 5가지:

• This laptop is much cheaper than that one. (이 노트북은 저것보다 훨씬 저렴하다) — much로 비교급 강조


• The new version is far better than the old one. (새 버전이 구 버전보다 훨씬 낫다) — far로 비교급 강조


• She is the tallest in our family. (그녀는 우리 가족 중에서 가장 키가 크다) — in + 단수명사


• This is the most interesting of all the books. (이것은 모든 책 중에서 가장 흥미롭다) — of + 복수명사


• Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. (파리는 세계에서 가장 아름다운 도시 중 하나다) — one of the 최상급
